Isle of Tiree - Location

location of the Isle of Tiree The Isle of Tiree, Tir An Eorna, meaning "The Land Below the Waves", is the most outer of the Inner Hebrides.

Sitting in the Gulf Stream, it is one of the sunniest spots in the UK. It is also the windiest spot in the UK too, with an average yearly wind speed of 18mph.

As you would expect, it has now become a mecca for windsurfing, with a perfect windsurfing spot to be found no matter the wind direction.

The swells are completely uninterrupted from the Atlantic, making it the ideal place to hold the UK Wavesailing championships.

If your are thinking of visiting Tiree for a windsurfing holiday or to compete, you should find all the information you require within this section to help you plan your trip.
